STX Academy - Cookie policy
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) sets out how STX Group B.V. (“STX”) makes use of cookies, pixels, plugins and other similar or related technologies (together “cookies”) that are used to store or access information on your device in relation to this STX Academy Platform (“Platform”).
Wherever possible, STX chooses to use cookies which collect information on an anonymous basis or in a way which protects the privacy of users. However, some cookies may collect and use personal data. For example, the cookies may collect access times, hardware and software information, information about the device you use, your IP address (including geolocation), MAC address, mobile device identifier (IDFA or GAID), cookie ID, or browsing behavior.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies (including pixels, plugins and similar techniques) are small text files that are stored on your computer or mobile device by a browser when you visit a website. Software on your device (such as your web browser) can store cookies and send them back to the website next time they visit. Cookies allow the website to remember your internet settings, actions and preferences (such as language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time they can also be used to inform the website owner about how the website is used or about user behavior.
Some cookies expire at the end of your browsing session (these are called ‘session cookies’), while others remain stored for a certain amount of time (‘persistent cookies’).
Generally, the Platform makes use of the following categories of cookies:
• Necessary Cookies: These cookies are strictly necessary for the functioning of the Platform and use of its features, such as page navigation and accessing secure areas. Your cookie choices are remembered and allow you to log in and/or complete a course/training. These features and the Platform itself cannot function properly without these cookies.
• Analytics cookies: These cookies collect information about your visit and use of the Platform. For instance, we collect information about the pages visited most often, the time spent on the Platform and if you encounter any problems or error messages. These cookies help us to understand how visitors interact with the Platform so that we can ensure that it is relevant and useful. It also helps us to issue spot and resolve bugs. Wherever possible, STX chooses to use statistical cookies which collect information on an anonymous basis.
• Functional cookies: Functional cookies allow us to recognize you in order to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. For example, by remembering your registration details and preferences, such as your username on the login page, region or country and preferred language for future visits to the Platform. These cookies also allow the Platform to be optimally displayed on your screen.
We use these cookies to (i) improve the use and functionality of the Platform, (ii) to gain a better understanding of how employees use the Platform, (iii) to generate statistics so that we can optimize the attractiveness, content, and functionality of the information we provide on them.
3. Adjusting your cookie settings
You can adjust your cookie preferences on this Platform at any time by changing your cookie preferences in our cookie banner. In addition, you can change your browser settings to prevent cookies from being placed on your device or if you want to delete cookies that you may have accepted earlier. The controls will vary depending on which browser you are using and it is important to check with the browser provider how you can do this. The ‘help’ section in your browser should provide information on how to manage your cookie settings. Please note that if you reject or delete cookies, you will still be able to visit the Platform but certain sections or some of the features may not work correctly.
